Abstract
The aim of present study was to investigate efficiency of chemical agents on the isolated bacteria in Madani Heart Hospital, Tabriz, Iran. The minimum bactericide concentration of disinfectants chlorhexidine (Fort), peracetic acid (Micro) and an alcohol based compound (Deconex) on selected bacteria at different exposure times and various dilutions were determined by the standard suspension technique. The results showed that chlorhexidine, peracetic acid and quaternary ammonium compound had bactericidal activity on selected bacteria. The effective disinfectant was Deconex and also the Gram negative bacteria were more resistance to disinfectant relation to Gram positive bacteria. The results confirmed that these agents are able to disinfect and they can be used lonely. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was observed to show more resistance to the tested disinfectants, followed by E. coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterobacter aerogenes and Gram positive bacteria.
